Maine Township High School District 207 provides a full continuum of services for students found eligible to receive special education services. We are committed to provide a supportive environment in which our students with special needs can develop academic, social, emotional, vocational, and life skills. The department offers a full continuum of services and placements from support in the general education environment to specialized instructional courses, and/or related services. A significant goal of the Special Education Department is to assist students in becoming independent effective self-advocates. 

Maine Township High School District 207 coordinates and maintains specific procedures for referral, placement, and program development. Support and services for all students are provided as outlined within a student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Students may qualify for special education services under the following categories:

Special Education Programs
Students found eligible for Special Education are serviced within a variety of settings. Services and Placement is determined through a multi-disciplinary conference based on the student’s individual needs. Educational Services and placements may include:
  • Resource (Seminar)
  • General Education with Support (Co-Taught, Supplementary Aids and Services, Teacher Assistants)
  • Specialized Instruction
  • Cross Categorical Specialized
  • Educational Life Skills
  • Multi-Needs Program

JumpStart Youth Employment Program
JumpStart, based out of Maine 207, is a federally funded program, funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
