Brett Clark, APR,  has been named Director of Communications for Maine Township High School District 207, his hiring approved Monday by the Board of Education.

Clark will work closely with Superintendent Dr. Ken Wallace and other District 207 administrators to shape and implement long-term communication, marketing and community outreach strategies for all of the District’s key audiences and stakeholders. He brings to the work extensive expertise in communicating with internal and external audiences, strategic planning, social media, web design and media relations.

Clark brings a wealth of communication and marketing experience and strong record of achievement to the role. He most recently has served as Director of Communications and Marketing for the Lombard-based Consortium for Educational Change, where he implemented marketing strategies to share information on programs, services and events to the more than 175 districts and 400,000 educators in 29 states served by the CEC.

Clark’s experience extends to personnel work, as he previously served as Executive Director of Human Resources for Glenview School District 34, where he oversaw all employee-recruitment efforts. He also worked for 12  years in District 34, including four years as Executive Director of Communications and Strategic Planning.

Earlier in his career, Clark led public relations efforts for schools in suburban St. Louis. Since February 2017, Clark has served as an adjunct faculty member at Governors State University, where he teaches communication courses for Administrator Academy credit.

According to the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB) website, the Accredited Public Relations (APR) designation asserts professional competence, communicates professional expertise, plus personal and professional dedication and values, and reflects progressive public relations industry practices and high standards.

Superintendent Dr. Ken Wallace said: “District 207 has very compelling work being done at each of our high schools; much of it is cutting edge in terms of service to students through evolved teaching and assessment practices, as well as a high level of personalized service to each student in order to increase the chances of success for our students while in our schools and beyond into successful lives. Brett Clark brings a state and national reputation as a communications leader who will help us advance the important work that we do in District 207. During his career in District 207, Dave Beery has done a great job of illustrating this important information to stakeholders.”
