Leading in Learning

We are in this Together

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am writing to express my sincere excitement for the 2021-22 school year – it has been fantastic to see our students back in school this week going through orientation, activities and sports.

In order for this year to be successful and schools to stay open, we need your help. Here are a few of the ways:

Vaccinations – I strongly encourage all parents/guardians to consider getting their child vaccinated as it is the most effective way to avoid outbreaks of COVID-19 cases in our schools and keep school disruptions like contact tracing, quarantines, testing and temporary school closures at a minimum. Please check with your child’s primary doctor about having your child vaccinated to protect them and others.

Masks – Governor Pritzker issued an executive order requiring all students, staff and other adults to wear masks when inside school buildings. Please talk with your child about the importance of wearing a mask over their nose and mouth all the time at school except when eating or drinking.

Up-to-Date Records – It is important we have accurate vaccination records on file. If you have NOT yet shared the vaccination status of your child, please complete the appropriate survey below today.

Certification of Health / Permission to Test – All parents/guardians need to complete, if they have not already done so, the certification of health and answer the question related to whether or not the school can test their child in the event of a contact tracing event.

I believe strongly that if we work together we can hold a normal school year that will benefit our students and our community. Thank you in advance for your cooperation,
