Maine East Principal Dr. Michael Pressler was recently named by the Maine Community Youth Assistance Foundation ( MCYAF) a 2019 Community Heroes today.
He was named for his work mentoring thousands of teens in his career at both Maine East and Maine South. The release from MCYAF states that “research shows that teens who participate in activities like band and fine arts are less likely to abuse drugs and alcohol. [Dr. Pressler’s] contribution to the health of Maine Township teens is immeasurable.”
The 2019 MCYAF Community Heroes will receive their awards at the 6th Annual MCYAF Community Heroes Dinner on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Café la Cave at 2777 Mannheim Road in Des Plaines.
