Dear Students and Families,
These are truly unprecedented times, and I want to thank students and families for your dedication to the “stay at home” order in Illinois and your perseverance as we work to continue to provide food, connection, care, concern and the highest quality e-Learning possible. It is literally a work in progress, and we appreciate your partnership in this endeavor. We will not waiver in our commitment to our students and families. Please make sure to connect with someone at school if there is anything we can do to support you.
In order to prepare for our transition to summer and planning for the 2020-2021 school year, I wanted to update students and families regarding what the end of this school year will look like for our schools.
- Wednesday, May 13 – Last day for seniors in keeping with our annual tradition of seniors finishing school prior to underclassmen
- Friday, May 15 – Last day for juniors, sophomores and freshmen
We are finalizing plans with relation to graduation, prom, senior honors celebration and end of the school year activities. This is heavily based on feedback from the recent student surveys. Please know that information and details on those plans will be sent to students and families early in the week of April 20.
Those plans will follow the guidance and directives of Governor Pritzker, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDHP) for future school planning and keeping the safety of our students, families and staff at the forefront.
Thank you again for your dedication and support over the past several weeks.
Dr. Ken Wallace, Superintendent
Maine Township High School District 207
