There are several ways families without internet connectivity can receive that service at no charge.
District 207 can provide families with WiFi hotspots. If you are in need of a hotspot, please contact your child’s counselor who can provide you with information and request documents. If this is not an option for your family, students will not be penalized if they do not have Internet service, but they will be responsible for completing the work when they return to school. They may also be provided with alternate activities prior to the e-learning day to be completed on that day if they contact their teachers in advance.
Families who qualify for low cost internet may apply for Internet Essentials from Comcast or https://www.internetessentials.com/covid19 or Access from AT&T. Comcast is now providing two months of free service to new qualifying customers, as well as opening up the Xfinity WiFi service to the public (Comcast press release). To connect to Xfinity WiFi look for the “xfinitywifi” network name when searching for a WiFi network on your device. Open a browser to finish making the connection.
