Jason DeRusha Earns Maine West Distinguished Alumni Award

Maine West graduate Jason DeRusha (Class of 1993) will be honored with the Maine West High School Distinguished Alumni Award during the Homecoming Assembly in the spectator gym on Friday Sept. 27 at 1 p.m.

DeRusha co-anchors WCCO This Morning weekdays from 4:30 a.m. until 7:00 a.m. and WCCO Mid-Morning from 9 to 10 a.m. He is also the station’s food reporter, producing “DeRusha Eats.” WCCO-TV is a CBS affiliate in Minnesota.

He has been nominated for 22 Regional Emmy Awards and has won 10 Emmy Awards. 

Marquette University named him the Young Alumnus of the Year in 2012.

DeRusha was named by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal as one of the “40 Under 40” in 2013, a group of leaders younger than 40 who had accomplished much in their professional lives while giving back to the community. Also in 2013, he was named to the Minnesota Monthly Power 75 as one of the 75 most influential people in the Twin Cities.
