Maine South’s BioTechnical Engineering class was selected to participate in Argonne’s Exemplary Student Research Program this year. The students presented their research that they also shared at the APS/CNM 2021 User’s Meeting (Advanced Photon Source/Center for Nanoscale Materials). The students listed below shared their information virtually to researchers around the globe:
Matt Anderson, Julia Asimacopoulos, Lilli Bresnahan, Steven Cataudella, Jack Christopoulos, Kieran Doran, Lydia Keller, Andrew Randazzo and Ben Romo.
The group researched, experimented and presented on structural property relations and antimicrobial properties of silver nanoparticles. Students recorded colonies in petri dishes, used a X-ray diffractometer to measure the samples and studied transient absorption and spectrophotometry.
