Brief Description of Program/Career The US Army/ US Army Reserves provides over 150 different career paths for students to choose from. We are the only branch of service that allows applicants to choose their jobs before signing a contract. The career placement is based on your Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery 

(ASVAB) scores. These career paths transfer over to college semester hours and some even provide civilian certifications.

The Army will pay for your degree to do your job in the military.  

Reserves = full time student/part time soldier

Work 1 weekend per month + 2 weeks in the summer

Army = Full Time Soldier

The Army Reserves contract begins immediately once you sign your contract.  

  1. Interview with a recruiter.  
  2. Take ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) -math, reading, job placement
  3. Reserves – Pick your job placement before signing contract 
  4. Physical Examination
  5. Speak with Guidance Counselor to select job
Training Facility Basic Combat Training 10 weeks/ Advanced Individual Training (Job Training) Varies depending on career path

Requirements for Application -Valid State ID or Student ID (Some students need to get their state ID by 18, most don’t seem to be in a rush to drive like I was when I was 16)

-Be a U.S. Citizen or Green card / I-551 Card holder.
