Several entrepreneurs from Maine West, Maine South and Maine East recently competed at Novus Pitch Day, taking home the top three rankings. Novus partnered with other Chicagoland companies to present high school students with the opportunity to pitch their startups to industry practitioners while competing for an investment prize.
The event began with lectures from keynote speakers and workshops led by business professionals. The afternoon then consisted of students pitching their ideas and receiving advice from model investors and business experts.
Results from the competition included:
1st place ($500 prize): Maine East “Turtlebot” team which included Scott Davis, Dev Desai, Moneer Ihmoud, Josh Kora and Deep Rana
2nd place ($300 prize): Maine South”Pop-On’s” team which included Amelie Gahagan, Alison Biagi and Lane Pruban
3rd place ($200): Maine South “Cali Club” team which included Carissa D’Alessandro, Frances Eichelberg and Allison Metter
