Rachel Santucci, a social science teacher from Maine South High School, was awarded a $7,000 scholarship from the Charles and Elizabeth Iwert Scholarship fund, which provides financial assistance to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in education.
The purpose of the grant is to support women educators pursuing a planned program for undergraduate or graduate study leading to a degree or certificate in education.
“Rachel is an amazing educator and our department is thrilled she has received this honor,” says Maine South Social Science Department Chair Jenne Dehmlow. “She is so deserving!”
To each the scholarship, committee members reviewed Santucci’s academic status, achievements, extracurricular activities and a personal essay. This scholarship is a testament to her hard work and dedication to the field of education.
