Assistant Superintendent for Business Mary Kalou provided the Board of Education an update on the renovation projects at the schools during the May 29, 2019 meeting.
The presentation highlighted the priorities at each building and included a proposed list of projects that are being discussed at each school. The details of those projects were outlined in a presentation she provided during the meeting.
Mary also highlighted the work that has been done since the referendum vote in November of 2018 including: bi-weekly administrative meetings, weekly team meetings with the architects and the construction management firm, several all-district department meetings including CTE, Visual Arts, Special Education, PE/Athletics, Learning Resource Center and Student Personnel Services, as well as school specific department program meetings.
The goal of these meetings is to discuss priorities for projects at all three schools and align the budget to the work that will total $240.7 million.
The priorities of the projects will be collaborative opportunities in the schools for students and staff, instructional flexibility, health and wellness enhancements and infrastructure improvements (mechanical, electrical and plumbing).
