PROJECT SUMMARY
Summer Construction 2020
Completing punch list activities, commissioning and close out documents at each school currently. After summer renovation completion we still have numerous ongoing projects that will run through the school year as further outlined below.
Maine East: Field House addition masonry walls are completed and the 2nd floor precast plank that create the 2nd floor slab is in progress. Once complete the masonry walls will extend up to the roof level which will receive steel joist and decking.
The Potter Wing renovation project continues. Walls are standing on floors 1 and 3 and majority of the overhead MEP/FP is in place. 2nd floor slab infills are now complete and stud wall installation has commenced.
One half of 3rd Floor of Area C started in mid-September with students scheduled for remote learning. The 1st half will be turned over in late October and 2nd half will start at that point and complete toward middle of December. Work is progressing well with finishes already scheduled for installation over the next few weeks.
Maine South: The A Building link façade continues to progress with glazing system on the courtyard side as well as the brick veneer on the east side. We anticipate a November completion for the link.
The courtyard infill addition steel structure is completed and roofing and exterior wall framing to follow. The interiors for this package were recently bid and up for review and approval by the Board of Education. Specialty foundations have been completed and space is ready for MEP/FP rough in.
The Food Labs are currently under construction and scheduled for completion in late November.
We have temporarily enclosed the new dining / study hall area which is scheduled to be completed in late February 2021.
The façade replacement on the east side of the building has also started over the last few weeks. Crews are working on the wall framing and window openings behind the plywood barricades. The façade will be completed is sections. Once one are is completed the temporary barricades will be relocated moving to the north until the façade is 100% complete.
The eastern portion of the A Building on all 3 floors has also started since school is not back to full capacity. These classrooms will be ongoing thru Winter Break.
Maine West: Most notable changes at Maine West is the erection of the precast wall panels for the Field House. This will be followed by the metal joist and roof decking over the next few weeks in an effort to enclose the addition prior to winter.
The pool renovations (drains / gutter work) continues to progress. Some existing conditions have slowed progress. Completion scheduled for 11/20/20.
With students not returning in full capacity we have accelerated the 2nd floor of C wing. This area had already been bid and abated. Area is expected to be complete by 11/30/20.
COVID 19 Impacts
Weekly Owner / Architect / Contractor Coordination remain remote via Google Meetings but the District and Wight continue to be present at each campus as needed to resolve issue and monitor the progress of the work.
We continue to monitor procurement of materials relative to potential COVID delays. We are expecting good bidder turnout for the Bid Period No. 2 letting given that some private sector construction projects have paused and/or slowed.

PCC continues to vet changes to the work with Wight and the District.
