Student Teaching and Internship Placement Process
Maine Township High School District 207 values our partnerships with universities and preparation programs. To support the professional growth of future educators and ensure a smooth placement process, we have established a standardized procedure for student teaching and internship requests. The following outlines the steps, required materials, and timelines for prospective candidates.

Please note that application deadlines are subject to change each academic year. Placement availability may vary based on cooperating teacher availability and program needs.
Application Process
Prospective candidates seeking a student teaching or internship placement with Maine Township High School District 207 must complete an online application, which can be accessed on the district website starting February 16, 2026 for the upcoming fall semester (2026) and August 17, 2026 for the spring semester (2027). Applications will be reviewed only after all required materials have been submitted. As part of the application, candidates will be required to upload the following documents:
- Official University Request Letter
- Issued by the university’s student teaching or internship coordinator
- Specifies the subject area and preferred placement dates
- Printed on official university letterhead
- Current Résumé or Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Transcripts
- Transcripts for all relevant degrees are required
- For example, candidates enrolled in a master’s program must submit both bachelor’s and master’s transcripts
Placement Timeline
- Applications are collected through the designated priority deadlines
- Following each deadline, applications are reviewed by the district
- Selected candidates are invited to participate in a virtual or in-person interview
- Final placement decisions are made after the interview process concludes
- Applications received after priority deadlines will be reviewed on a space-available basis
