Assessment literacy focuses on how effective assessment practices can increase student achievement and motivation.  Participants will learn how to develop effective formative and summative assessments that are aligned to clear learning targets.   Emphasis is placed on developing strategies to involve students in monitoring their own learning and using assessment information to inform instruction.  The use of grading practices that support student learning and foster a growth mindset are also an essential component of assessment literacy.
